Use



This pump is designed for dirty water applications and for

continuous use.



The pump can be operated in either a vertical or horizontal position.



The pump can only be operated with water inside and should never

be run dry.



Model 2780 features

water detection technology

After 15

seconds, Model 2780 will attempt to turn itself on automatically (if

water is present) and will try again every 10 minutes. This will occur

a total of 5 times. It will then try to start once every 24 hours for 30

days. After this it will stop and you will need to disconnect and plug

the pump back into an electrical power source to reset itself.

Attention



Make sure the outlet (discharge) pipe is empty of water when starting

the pump. Air pockets inside the outlet line can have a negative effect

on the pump performance. If air pockets exist, turn the pump off and

wait a few seconds before turning back on. This should correct the

problem.



Noise generated in Models 1430 and 2100 for short periods

(usually at start up) is caused by the pumps ability to clean itself by

turning repeatedly back and forth (clockwise and counter clockwise),

removing any debris that can block the pre-chamber. This self-clean

ing function reduces the time necessary for maintenance.

Warranty

Lifegard Aquatics warrants to the original purchaser, this product to be

free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year

from the date of purchase, provided it is operated in accordance with

factory instructions and operated within the environment and limitations

for which it is designed. Lifegard will not be liable for any labor cost of

removing or replacing component parts. This shall be the responsibility

of the original purchaser as will be shipping charges to and from the

Lifegard facility. Damage incurred by improper repackaging or in shipping

is not covered by this warranty. Lifegard will only be responsible for

repair or replacement of any of its products or parts that are found to

be defective and will not bear cost of any incidental or consequential

damages arising out of the occurrence of such defect. This warranty gives

you specific legal rights that vary from state to state.

Safety Standards



WARNING – To reduce the risk of electric shock, use only on portable

self-contained fountains no larger than 5 feet in any dimension.



properly grounded, grounding type receptacle.



CAUTION – This pump has been designed for use with water only.



investigated for use in swimming pool or marine areas.



circuit protected by a ground-fault circuit Interrupter (GFCI).



Acceptable for indoor and outdoor use.



Submersible Pump.



Make sure the power cable is fully intact

before connecting the pump to main power

supply.



Never replace or repair the power cable.

Replace entire pump if damaged.



WARNING – Make sure the pump is

disconnected before performing any

maintenance. If plug or main electrical

socket is wet, disconnect the master

switch before removing power cable.



Ideally, extension cords should not be

used. If necessary, make sure connection is

completely sealed and that cable is suitable

for external use and identical to that of the

pump cable (in terms of insulation and

section).



Avoid lifting the pump by means of the

power cable during installation and

maintenance operations.



The pump can be used in liquids with

temperatures no greater

than 95 degrees F.



Keep these instructions

in a safeplace for future

reference.



children.

Cleaning



Easy simple cleaning is required for the pump to operate correctly.



Disconnect the power cord form electrical supply before performing

any maintenance.



Remove the bottom grill (A) by pushing release tabs (Y).



Rinse all parts in running water using a small brush to remove

any debris.



Make sure pre-chamber (C) is clean of any debris.

Maintenance



Remove the bottom grill (A) by pushing the release tabs (Y).



Loosen screw (I) and gently remove the pre-chamber (C) and rotor

assembly composed of the shaft (EFH) and the rotor (G). Remove the

rotor (G) being careful not to lose the rear rubber cap (H). Rinse all

parts in running water using a small brush to remove any scale.



Clean the o-ring (D) fitted on the pre-chamber (C) and make sure it is

clean and in good condition. Replace if it is damaged.



Reassemble the pump.
